Custom Mechanics

Our mechanical interactives bring phenomena to life while engaging the body and mind. Years of experience have taught us how to create exhibits that will survive thousands of pulls, twists, openings, and closings.
Kinetic Sculpture Clock Tower
Family Museum of Arts and Science
Bettendorf, IA

Our kinetic ball sculptures invite learning around potential and kinetic energy, gravity and momentum. As centerpiece for the Family Museum’s Fox Hollow kids’ town, we designed a ball sculpture with a central clock tower. This ambitious exhibit stands at 12-feet tall and expands to 20-feet wide at the top. Kids crank a wheel at floor level that starts the balls rolling. Musical chimes, roller coaster tracks and a spinning tornado-like funnel complete the fun. Click on the videos to watch this sculpture in action.
